GENERAL OPERATION
Sound mute
To switch the sound from the speakers.
The sound changes as follows;
normal
->
attenuate
->
mute
TV/AV selector
To switch TV, AV1, AV2 or AV3 mode repeated-
ly. (p.9, p.10)
Nicam/Bilingual selector
To switch the sound mode as follows;
NICAM/STEREO
or
MONO
in the nicam or
stereo programmes.
A

B
or
MONO
in the
nicam or bilingual programmes.
If the nicam or stereo sound reception is poor
in quality, you can switch to “
MONO
” sound
reception by pressing this button.
Direct programme selector
For direct access to programmes using the
(0-
9) numeric button
.
For selection of analogue programme position
10 - 99, for example 23, first press the
-/--
button
and press
2
and
3 numeric button
.
Surround mode selector
To select the surround mode,
ACTIVE
,
MONO
,
OFF

MENU
To switch the on screen-display menu on/off.
Level down/up
To adjust the sound and picture control level.
Also operates as left and right cursor.
Programme down/up
To select the next programme number or previ-
ous programme number. Also operates as up
and down cursor.
Screen mode selector
To select the screen mode, AUTO, NATURAL,
ZOOM(14:9), TITLE-IN(14:9), ZOOM(16:9),
TITLE-IN(16:9), FULL or NORMAL. (p.8)
Standby/Power-on
To switch the TV on and off.
Picture mode selection
To access a series of picture mode:
PERSON-
AL, STANDARD, ECO
and
DYNAMIC.

Programme information call/Sound
system selector
To display the programme information on the
screen.
It also operates as sound system selector.
(p.6)
Channel mode selection
To enter channel number of the station direct-
ly. (p.6)
Time display
To switch displaying the present time on the
screen if the station provide a teletext.
Programme alternation
To switch back to the previous programme
position watched.
Bass Expander switch
To switch on/off the Bass Expander.
Teletext/TV selector
To switch TV, MIX and Teletext mode.
