Display options – FM
Your radio has a range of display options for FM mode:
The Radio Broadcast Data System (RBDS) is a system in which
inaudible digital information is transmitted in
addition to the normal FM
radio program. RBDS offers several useful features. The following are
available on your radio.
1. Press and release the Info button to cycle through the various
options.
a. Frequency
Displays the frequency of the station being
listened to.
b. Station name
Displays the name of the station being listened
to.
c. Program type
Displays type of station being listened to e.g.
Pop, Classic, News etc.
d. Radio text
Displays radio text message such as, new item
etc.
e. Year/Day
Displays the current year and day of the week
according to the date setting of your radio.
f . Month/Date
Displays the current month and date according
to the date setting of your radio.
g.Time
Displays the current time according to the clock
setting of your radio.
Note:
If no RBDS information is available, the radio will be unable to
display the station name, scrolling text and program type information.
Stereo (AUTO)/Mono setting – FM
Your radio will play stereo FM broadcasts in stereo provided that
the received signal is of adequate strength. However, as a stereo
signal becomes weaker the audio signal will become poorer. It may
be preferable to force the radio to play the station in mono in order to
reduce the level of background hiss.
1. Press and release the Standby button to switch on your radio.
2. Tune to the required FM radio station as previously described.
3. Press and release the Menu button to enter the menu setting.
The
“MENU” indicator will also appear and flash on the upper right corner
of the screen when the radio is in the Menu mode.
4. Rotate the Tuning control knob until FM AUTO/MONO setting show
s
on the display. If the setting is “FM AUTO”, press the Select button,
the “AUTO” will flash. Rotate the Tuning control knob to switch to “FM
MONO” mode to reduce the hiss. Press and release the Select button to
confirm the setting.
5. To return to Auto (Stereo) mode press and release the Menu button
to alter the setting. Rotate the Tuning control
knob until “FM MONO”
shows on the display. Press and release the
Select button, the
“MONO” will flash. Rotate the Tuning control knob until “FM AUTO”
appears on the display. Press and release the Select button
to
confirm the setting.
