• When storing your inflatable, keep it in a clean and dry place that is
not affected from major variations in temperature and other dam-
aging factors. You may store it deflated and rolled up in a bag or
assembled and lightly inflated (make sure you do not subject it to
deformations). Store it away from rodents.
MAINTAINING YOUR EQUIPMENT
The Pump
needs periodic maintenance depending on how much it is used. Un-
screw the small cross head screw with an appropriate screw driver.
Pull off the top section of the pump. Apply silicone grease or Vaseline
liberally to the large sealing washer which contacts the outside rim of
the pump. Replace the top and screw together. If the washer dries out,
pumping effort will first increase, then it will fail and need to be re-
placed.
Valve
If the valve becomes loose the board will leak air from around the valve
surround, simply tighten the valve with the valve spanner to make it
tight and stop the leakage. It is important that the pump connector be
kept clean and must be sand and dirt free before connecting it to the
board. This is very important if you are on a sandy beach. Sand is a
natural enemy to a good airtight seal and will quickly reduce the life of
the components. If the connector does get sandy, wash it off with clean
water and dry it before connecting to the board. If the Valve fails, we
suggest contacting us rather than trying to repair it yourself as an unsuc-
cessful repair may void the warranty.
The Paddle
After you have been paddling in the sea it is important that you rinse
your paddle well in fresh water. This will remove any salt, sand and dirt
which can build up on the paddle. If salt is left to build up on the paddle
it will cause the joints to become very stiff making it much harder to
assemble your paddle and adjust the length.
