Entering Text
At many times when using your phone, you will
need to enter text; for example, when storing a
name in the Contacts, creating your personal
greeting or scheduling events in your calendar. You
can enter alphanumeric characters into your phone
using your phone’s keypad.
Your phone has the following text input modes:
• T9 Word: This mode allows you to enter words
with only one key press per letter. Each key on a
keypad has more than one letter; for example,
pressing
can enter J, K, or L. However, T9
mode automatically compares the series of
keystrokes you make with an internal linguistic
dictionary to determine the word, thus requiring
far fewer keystrokes than the traditional Alphabet
mode.
• ABC: This mode allows you to enter letters by
pressing the key labeled with the desired letter
once, twice, or three times until the letter
appears on the display.
• Symbol: This mode allows you to enter special
characters.
• 123: This mode allows you to enter numbers.
