Battery disposal and recycling
Please fo l l ow these guidelines when disposing of or re c y-
cling the battery :
Do not dispose of the battery in a fi re ; the cell may
ex p l o d e .C h e ck the regulations in your area for special
disposal instru c t i o n s .
Do not open or puncture the battery ;the re l e a s e d
e l e c t ro lyte is corro s i ve and may cause damage to the
eyes and skin, and can be toxic if swa l l owe d .
C h a rge the battery in accordance with the instru c t i o n s
s p e c i fied in this user guide. See “ C h a rging the battery ”
on page 18.
Protecting your battery
For best battery perfo rm a n c e , you should fo l l ow these
g u i d e l i n e s :
O n ly use Samsung-approved batteries and trave l
a d a p t e r / ch a rge r. These adapter/ch a rger are designed
to maximize battery life . Using other batteries or
a d a p t e r / ch a rger will invalidate your wa rranty and may
cause damage as we l l .
To avoid damage ,o n ly ch a rge the battery in tempera-
t u res that ra n ge from 32° F to 104° F.
Do not use the battery ch a rger in direct sunlight or in
high humidity areas (such as a bathro o m ) .
N ever dispose of the battery by incineration (fi re ) .
Keep the metal contacts at the battery base cl e a n .
Do not attempt to disassemble or short - c i rcuit the bat-
t e ry, as injuries or burns may re s u l t .
You may need to re ch a rge the battery if it has not
been used for a long period of time.
Replace the battery when it no longer prov i d e s
a c c e p t able perfo rm a n c e . It can be ch a rged hundre d s
of times befo re it will need to be re p l a c e d .
Do not allow metal objects or liquids to contact or
s h o rt - c i rcuit the battery term i n a l s , as injuries or burn s
m ay re s u l t .
To avoid damage ,s t o re the battery in tempera t u re s
ra n ging from -4° F to 185° F, and avoid leaving the bat-
t e ry unused for ve ry long peri o d s . Fo l l ow these storage
ru l e s :
Less than one month:
-4° F to 140° F (-20° C to 50° C)
M o re than one month:
-4° F to 113° F (-20° C to 35° C)
