Connecting to a PC 

Connecting with USB cable A to B

When you connect this terminal with PC via a USB cable A to B 01 

(sold separately), you can synchronize data with Galaxy Smart Switch P 

(P.126), or recognize this terminal as a media device (P.126).

Insert microUSB (B) plug of commercially available USB 
cable A to B into the external connection jack of this 
terminal to connect this terminal to a PC

•  Check the direction of the microUSB plug and insert the microUSB 

plug horizontally.

Information

•  Connect the USB plug of USB cable A to B directly to the USB 

connector of a PC. If you connect it via USB hub or USB extension 

cable, it may not work properly.

•  Do not remove USB cable A to B while data is transferred. It may 

cause damage of data.

•  The connectable OS are Windows 7, Windows8.1, Windows 10, and 

Mac OS 10.5 or later (10.12 unsupported).

Using Galaxy Smart Switch PC

Media files such as music/video and personal information can be managed, 

and the software of the terminal can be updated by using Galaxy Smart 

Switch PC.

You can only forward content that you own or have the rights to.

Start up "Smart Switch" on a PC

•  Follow the on-screen instructions.

Using as media device

When you connect this terminal and a PC with USB cable A to B 01, this 

terminal is recognized as a media device (MTP) and you can transfer media 

files such as music or videos.

Connect this terminal to PC via USB cable A to B (P.126)

Open the Notification panel → Check "USB transferring 
media files" is displayed

•  When "USB transferring media files" is displayed, "USB transferring 

media files" → Select "Transfer media files".

Operate PC to transfer data between the terminal and the 
PC

Using as camera device

Connect this terminal and a PC with USB cable A to B 01 and turn to 

camera (PTP) mode. You can transfer still images and videos to the PC.

•  Use Camera (PTP) mode for transferring data to a PC etc. that does not 

support MTP.
