Text input

The text input feature allows you to control how you enter text when creating

messages, contact records, or memos. Depending on your phone model,

various text input modes are available to help you enter text more quickly and

conveniently. By choosing the text input mode that is right for you and your

situation, you can enjoy faster, more accurate text entry.

Change the text input mode

While creating a message or entering text for another purpose, such as creating

a memo, you can change the text input mode to suit your preferences for entering

text. To change the text input mode,

Access the options and select the writing option.

Choose from one of four different modes: T9, ABC, symbol, or numeric mode.

When entering text, you can switch between some modes via appropriate shortcut

keys (usually the

key and
