valve stem position cause the pressure up-
stream and downstream of the booster to
change. The air released by the booster (sig-
nal pressure p
st
) flows to the pneumatic actu-
ator over the volume restriction (14), caus-
ing the plug stem to take on a position cor-
responding to the reference input variable.
The adjustable tuning restrictions (13 and
14) are used to optimize the control loop.
The range spring (6) corresponds to the
rated valve travel and the nominal reference
input span. It can be exchanged.
