Installation
5.2
Preparation for installation
Before mounting, make sure the following
conditions are met:
−
The positioner is not damaged.
−
The air supply is not yet connected to the
positioner.
−
The current is not yet connected to the
positioner.
Proceed as follows:
Î
Lay out the necessary material and tools
to have them ready during mounting.
Î
Determine the operating direction of the
positioner control loop (see sec-
tion
5.2.1).
Î
Determine on which side of the valve the
positioner is to be mounted (see sec-
tion
5.2.2).
Î
Remove the protective caps from the
pneumatic connections.

On the flapper plate, the operating direction
is indicated by symbols (direct

, reverse

). Depending on the position of the flap
-
per plate, the adjusted operating direction
and the associated symbol is visible. If the
required operating direction does not corre-
spond to the visible symbol or if the operat-
ing direction is to be changed, proceed as
follows:
Î
Unscrew both screws on the cover plate
and lift off the nozzle block along with
the cover plate.
Î
Turn the nozzle block by 180° and place
it back on together with the cover plate.
Make sure that the nozzle block and
flapper plate are correctly located above
or below the feeler pin as shown in
.
Î
Fasten the nozzle block.
5.2.2
Determining on which
side of the valve the po
-
sitioner is to be mounted
The positioner is mounted on the left or right
side of the valve depending on the actuator's
direction of action and the operating direc-
tion of the positioner control loop.
