Decommissioning and
removal
Risk of bursting in pressure equipment.
Regulators and pipelines are pressure equip
-
ment. Improper opening can lead to bursting
of the regulator parts.
−
Before starting any work on the regulator,
depressurize all plant sections affected as
well as the control line.
−
Drain the process medium from all the
plant sections affected as well as the regu-
lator.
− Wear personal protective equipment.
Risk of personal injury due to residual
process medium in the regulator and
control line.
While working on the regulator and control
line, residual process medium can escape
and, depending on its properties, may lead
to personal injury, e.g. (chemical) burns.
Wear protective clothing, safety gloves and
eye protection.
Risk of burn injuries due to hot or cold
components and pipeline.
Regulator components and the pipeline may
become very hot or cold. Risk of burn inju
