ROTARY SNOW BLOWER
TORNADO
4.5.
Preparing rotary snow blower for operation
Once blower is properly mounted on tractor, inspect and examine whether blower's clearing bars
are in good condition, whether rotor and drive transmission assembly is acceptable condition and has
no loosen bolt connections. Examine also whether the machine has all required guards and they are in
perfect technical condition. If it is otherwise, then repair or replace worn out (missing) parts with new
ones and tighten loosen bolts in accordance with
Next, on each blower's start, examine oil level in main drive gear and if need be refill and lubricate
the machine (information on oil are provided in section
5.3
).
Upon lifting the blower up, adjust position (height) of sliding skids (
). Unlock and take pin
(
1
) out, set skid (
2
) in desired position and then lock with pin (
1
) again. If the blower is ready for
operation set it desired position and start clearing snow.

Operation
NOTE:
Snow clearing rate should always be adjusted depending on current road
conditions. When clearing snow, do not drive faster than
5 km/h
.
NOTE:
DO NOT operate the blower, if any unauthorized personnel, animals and
buildings are within snow blowing range.
Prior to lowering and starting the machine, which is mounted on the tractor, make sure whether
there are no unauthorized personnel (children in particular) or animals within the operating reach. The
blower's operator is obliged to provide good visibility of the machine and operating range. When
operating with the blower it is forbidden to take any place other than the operator's seat in the vehicle's
cabin or to leave the cabin during operation.
Rotary snow blower
Tornado
has been designed to be operated at the front with possibility of
mounting it on a rear linkage. However, front PTO drives might not transmit such high torque as rear
ones. This is why with snow's large weight, which is to be put aside or cleared, the blower needs to be
aggregated with tractor on rear-3point linkage with recommended PTO shaft's rate of
540 rpm
. Owing to this, the blower operates more smoothly and does not load the tractor as when
mounted on the front 3-point linkage. As it is recommended by the manufacturer, if snow cover height
is more than
50 cm
, then operating rate should be reduced or the blower should be mounted on
tractor's rear 3-point linkage. Figure below provides blower's all possible working positions.
