Residual risk

Despite  the  fact,  that  company  SaMASZ–  the  manufacturer  of  the  machine  takes

responsibility  for  design  and  manufacturing  of  the  rake,  in  order  to  eliminate  dangerous
situations,  certain  risk  during  machine’s  operation  is  unavoidable.  Residual  risk  results  from
incorrect behaviour of the scissor trimmer operator.

Major source of risk follows performance of these operations:

operation of machine by minors as well as not being familiarized with operator's manual,

operation of machine by persons under influence of alcohol or other abusive substances,

not keeping caution while transportation and shifting of scissor trimmer during operation,

transport of persons remaining on the machine,

presence of persons and animals within the machine operation range,

performing operations related to servicing and adjustment with engine on.

1.

Danger of catching

This  kind  of  risk  is  present  when  position  of  machine  is  being  changed,  as  a  result  of

operating near rotating parts.

During  operation,  maintenance  and  regulations  always  wear  protective  gloves,  shoes  and

clothes  without  loose  parts,  belts  and  so  on.  Always  comply  with  safety  decals  placed  on  the
machine.

2.

Danger of injury and abrasion

This  risk  is  present  when  replacing  working  parts  with  sharp  edges,  cleaning  the  machine,

removing  the  clogging  and  jams.  During  any  maintenance  and  repair  works,  always  wear  safety
gloves.

3.

Danger of cutting limbs off

Contact  between  cutting  knives  and  body  may  lead  to  serious  injuries,  and  in  extreme  cases

amputation  of  limbs  or  even  death.  Failure  to  pay  enough  attention  when  operating  the  machine
nearby unauthorized personnel may cause an accident.

4.

Danger of kick

Kick  is  one  of  the  most  dangerous  accidents  which  are  likely  when  operating  machine.  It  is

described as uncontrolled, sudden and very quick motion of an object or part of it being processed
(splinter, knurl, etc.). Direct impact of the material against human body may cause, depending on
the material weight and size, as well as speed and the impact location, bruises, injections, loss of an
eye, teeth, or even death due to damage to organs and vast internal haemorrhages.

5.

Danger of irritation to the respiratory tract

Lesser threat when cutting is also a dusty atmosphere as emission of significant fractions of fine

chips and dust. The operator thus should operate in a tight cabin with proper airflow.

6.

Danger of liquid ejection out of hydraulic system

During  connection  of  hydraulic  hoses  to  hydraulic  connectors  make  sure,  that  either  the

extension arm’s and the trimmer's hydraulic system is without pressure.

During  operation  of  hydraulic  system  always  wear  protective  glasses  and  gloves.  Check

regularly hydraulic hoses.

CAUTION:

Residual risk results from incorrect behaviour of the machine operator.
