PREPARING YOUR VEGETABLES AND FRUITS
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
PRODUCT TYPE
EXAMPLE
PREPARATION
HARD ROOTS
Cauti on: Do not place too many fruit/vegetable
pieces. Too many pieces may clog the feeder tube
or the extracti on screw and the appliance may stall.
●
Carrots
●
Beetroots
●
Celery
Wash all products. Slice the carrots into long, sleek strips to feed them
easily through the feeder tube.
If the carrots are large, slice them along into four quarters. Cut off
approximately 1 cm of the greenish end. Use the pusher to feed in the
chunks remaining in the feeder tube.
–
Cut large beetroots and celery into smaller pieces
NOTE: Firmly push down hard vegetable and fruit chunks into the juicer, because it runs at a slow speed. Juice extracti on will be easier if you slice large carrots
into two or more long pieces. Use the pusher to feed in the chunks remaining in the feeder tube.
CEREAL GRASS
●
Wheat
●
Barley
Cut the grass to length and rinse it with water. Place small porti ons
of the grass in the feeder tube mouth at a ti me for bett er extracti on
performance. Use the pusher if needed.
–
Greens: do not feed too much at a ti me, or it will be much more
diffi cult to process.
NOTE: Cereal grass may foam during extracti on. Have the grass as fresh as possible to reduce foaming. You can also achieve this by cooling the cereal grass and
the extracti on screw overnight in a refrigerator (or at least for 2 hours) or rinsing them with cold water directly before juice extracti on. If you do not mind mixing
cereal grass juice with carrot juice, you can increase the cereal grass yield by extracti ng juice with a litt le of carrot. The carrot will help clean the fi lter basket
during processing.
HARD FRUITS
●
Apples
Hard and juicy varieti es are preferable. You can juice the fruits whole, if
they fi t in the feeder tube. Otherwise cut the fruits into smaller pieces.
SOFT FRUITS/VEGETABLES
●
Tomatoes
●
Grapes
Wash the products and cut them into smaller pieces (if necessary) for
easier feeding into the appliance. Peel off the skin if necessary. Do not
overfi ll the feeder tube mouth with too many chunks. Push down the
products with the pusher or the fl ap.
CITRUS FRUIT
●
Oranges
●
Grapefruits
●
Lemons
Peel off the skin and remove excess white fi bres. Cut into smaller pieces
if necessary.

JUICE EXTRACTION
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
CAUTION!
Remove hard and large stones
from peaches and cherries.
CAUTION!
Do not slice vegetables and fruits
thin or dice them into small pieces. Too small/
large chunks will make them harder to juice.
1. Place the appliance on a smooth, stable and
level surface. Before plugging in the power
cord, make sure that the appliance is off
(
OFF
).
2. Thoroughly wash the vegetables and fruits
to be juiced. Cut them into smaller pieces
if necessary (do not slice thin or dice into
small pieces) so that they easily fi t in the
feeder tube mouth
⑰
.
3. Place the juice pitcher and the pulp conta-
iner under the juice spout and pulp dischar-
ge chute of the fi lter bowl
⑨
. Remove the
plug from the juice spout
⑫
.
4. Turn on the Slow Juicer with the switch
③
.
5. Depending on their shape and size, feed the
vegetables/fruits piece by piece into the
mouth
⑰
and push them down with the
pusher
⑲
. When feeding large, ball-shaped
food products or chunks thereof into the
juicer (not bigger than 80 mm, e.g. toma-
toes, apples, oranges, etc.), use the rotator
in the feeder tube
⑰
. Lift the rotator
lock
⑱
up, feed the food product through
the feeder tube, and turn the rotator with
the food product 180°. Press the rotator
lock
⑱
butt on to engage the rotator lock.
6. Monitor the pulp
⑥
and juice levels
⑦
. If
you need to empty the juice pitcher and/
or the pulp container, turn off the applian-
ce with the switch
③
and plug the juice
spout
⑫
.
7. If the products are too hard to process,
the appliance may stall and stop. Stalling
may be caused by too large vegetable/fruit
chunks. This happens most oft en with hard
vegetables/fruits. Resolve the problem by
operati ng the Reverse switch positi on
③
.
The Slow Juicer will start turning in reverse
to release the motor. If stalling persists,
disassemble the appliance, clean it, and
reassemble (see Secti on “Assembling the
juicer”).
8. The appliance is equipped with two inter-
changeable fi lters – with small and large
mesh. Using a small mesh fi lter we will get
clear juice, while the fi lter with large mesh
allows to receive thick juice.
9. If you want to make a diff erent juice wi-
thout interrupti ng, you can fl ush the food
contact parts without disassembling them.
Flushing the appliance:
Place the power and control switch
③
to
OFF
and unplug the appliance from
the mains.
Plug the juice spout
⑫
.
Place the juice pitcher and the pulp con-
tainer under the respecti ve spout
⑫
and
chute
⑬
.
Pour approximately 200 ml of clean cold
water into the feeder tube mouth
⑰
. DO
NOT spill the water on the appliance ho-
using (if this happens, thoroughly dry the
appliance).
Plug in and turn on the appliance for ap-
proximately 30 seconds.
Unplug the juice spout
⑫
and wait for
all water to come out with the pulp and
juice residues.
Repeat fl ushing unti l clean.
The juicer features the lid
⑳
which prevents
ingress of dirt and the strainer
⑧
which can
be placed on the juice pitcher
⑦
. Close the lid
during breaks in extracti on or when the slow
juicer is not used. Use the strainer to extract a
clear and pure juice.
CAUTION!
Do not unlock the feeder cham-
ber
⑯
when the Slow Juicer is running! The
safety lock of the feeder chamber will stop
the motor when disengaged. Do not plug the
juice spout
⑫
when extracti ng juice from
foaming products (e.g. apples or celery). Be
careful when extracti ng with the juice spout
plugged. If there is too much juice in the fi lter
bowl ⑨, it may spill.
