GROUNDED PLUG
To reduce the risk of electric shock this appliance has a grounded plug.
(2 blades and 1 pin) If the plug does not fit fully into the electrical
outlet contact a qualified electrician. Do not modify the plug in any
way or use an adaptor.
HOW TO USE YOUR PORTABLE COOKING RANGE
Any flat-bottomed pot or container that can be used on a conventional
electric stove element can also be used on the Salton Portable Cooking
Range. For maximum heat transfer, cookware that has a solid perfectly
flat bottom is recommended. Cookware made from solid
aluminum or some other material with an encapsulated aluminum
base will provide the best results. Any cookware can be used to reheat
but if maximum energy is required, such as boiling water, please use
the recommended cookware.
1. Place the Portable Cooking Range onto a smooth, dry, flat surface.
Be sure that the knobs are in the '0' position and plug into any
120 Volt A.C. outlet. Once the unit is plugged into the wall outlet
the red indicator light will glow until it is unplugged.
2. Place filled cookware on element. Each element is equipped with
it’s own Temperature Control Knob and Indicator Light.
3. Turn Control Knob (s) clockwise to desired setting. The green
Indicator Light (s) will glow and go ‘on’ and ‘off’ as the selected
temperature is automatically maintained.
IMPORTANT:
• DO NOT preheat before using.
• DO NOT switch on before cookware is placed on the element.
• The wattage of the small element is 600 watts and the large
element is 900 watts.
