1
Install the lock on the side of the door with the widest part of the door frame exposed. Facing the door, check to see if your door knob is on
the left or right. If your door knob is on the left, follow Figure 1a. If it’s on the right, follow Figure 1b.
Close the door and release the door handle, allowing
the door to settle to its natural closed position.
NOTE: It is recommended that the bottom of the
template be positioned at least 60”
(1.52 meters) from the floor so the
lock will be out of a child’s reach.
2
Fold the template at the appropriate
“FOLD” line for the orientation of
your door. Place the fold into corner
where the door meets the door
jamb
(Figure 1).
3
Use a pencil to draw lines through the
slots in the template on the door side
and door jamb
(see image).
Remove
template.

This will secure the latch hook
(Figure 4a).
NOTE: The latch hook opening needs to face the door as shown
(Figure 4a).
NOTE: The latch hook should be able to swing freely.
5
Close the door. Latch hook should engage with catch. Open the door. It will
open approximately 3”

To override the stop and close the door, lift the lock up to remove the latch
hook from the catch. The latch automatically resets itself when you close the
door.

ensure latch fully engages.
