15 INSTALLING LOCAL HASP

HASP Keys

Installation and Configuration Guide

For offline activation, you will be supplied with the

RUS Branding

utility a

.txt

file with the product

key consisting of numeric and alphabetic characters. The

RUS Branding

utility and the

.txt

file may

be included into the installation package or sent via email (depending on the product you
purchased).

The

RUS Branding

utility handles the

c2v

and

v2c

files performing the following steps:

•

Creating a

c2v

(

customer to vendor

) file. This file

contains the snapshot of the computer the software key is linked to.

•

Applying

v2c

(

vendor

to customer

) file. The

.v2c

file

contains the software key itself which can be activated only on the computer you have taken
snapshot of (

.c2v

file).

Before offline activation, install the pre-requisites and the product using the installation CD. Make
sure the

Sentinel License Manager

service is running.

To perform offline activation, follow the steps below:

Create a

.c2v

file

using the

RUS Branding

utility on the computer you are going to install the key

to.

Move the

c2v

file to a computer which has internet connection.

through the Customer Portal. Once there, create a

.v2c

file which will contain the

software key for the product in question.
3.

Apply the

.v2c

file you got

on the computer you have taken snapshot of (

c2v

file) using the

RUS

Branding

utility.

Using the

Sentinel Admin Control Center

web app,

check whether the software key you have

just installed is active
