FILLInG THE TAnK
WARnInG:
Petrol is extremely flammable and explosive. A fire or
explosion from petrol will burn you and others. Always
shut off engine before fuelling. Never add fuel to a
machine with a running or hot engine. Move at least
10m from refuelling site before starting engine. Do not
smoke and stay away from open flames and sparks.
Failure to safely handle fuel could result in serious
personal injury.
Position the hedge trimmer on its side with the fuel cap
pointing upward.
Always refuel outdoors in a well ventilated area away
from sparks, flames and other ignition sources. Choose a
hard level surface for this task.
Clean surface around fuel cap to prevent contamination.
Loosen fuel cap slowly. Rest the cap on a clean surface.
Carefully pour fuel into the tank. Avoid spillage.
Clean and inspect the fuel cap gasket before replacing
the fuel cap.
Replace fuel cap and hand tighten. Wipe up any fuel
spillage.
Move at least 10m away from refuelling area before
starting the product.
nOTE:
It is normal for smoke to be emitted from a new
engine during first use.
WARnInG:
Check for fuel leaks. A leaking fuel cap is a fire hazard
and must be replaced immediately. If you find any leaks,
correct the problem before using the product. Failure
to do so could result in a fire that could cause serious
personal injury.
STARTInG AnD STOPPInG

The starting method differs depending on whether the
engine is cold or warm.
WARnInG:
When the engine starts with the choke in the COLD
START position, the blades will move. Keep body,
objects, and obstructions away from blades. Failure to
keep away from the blades can result in serious injury.
To start a cold engine:
DO NOT squeeze the throttle trigger until the engine
starts and runs.
Place the hedge trimmer on level ground and ensure that
no objects or obstructions are in the immediate vicinity
