MAINTENANCE
WARNING:
When servicing, use only identical replacement parts.
Use of any other parts can create a hazard or cause
product damage.
WARNING:
Always wear eye protection with side shields marked to
comply with ANSI Z87.1. Failure to do so could result in
objects being thrown into your eyes resulting in possible
serious injury.
GENERAL MAINTENANCE
Avoid using solvents when cleaning plastic parts. Most
plastics are susceptible to damage from various types of
commercial solvents and may be damaged by their use. Use
clean cloths to remove dirt, dust, oil, grease, etc.
WARNING:
Do not at any time let brake fluids, gasoline, petroleum
based products, penetrating oils, etc., come in contact
with plastic parts. Chemicals can damage, weaken or
destroy plastic which can result in serious personal injury.
CLEANING THE CHECK VALVE AREA
See Figure 12, page 13.
If grease does not flow freely when the switch trigger is
depressed, contaminants may be clogging the check valve
area.
To clean the check valve area:
Lock the switch trigger in the “off” position and remove
the battery pack.
Remove the check valve bolt, washer, spring, and ball
from the check valve area.
Use a clean dry cloth to remove grease and contaminants
from the bolt, washer, spring, ball, and check valve area.
Reinstall the ball, spring, washer, and check valve bolt.
Tighten the bolt to secure.
STORING THE GREASE GUN
Lock the switch trigger in the “off” position and remove
the battery pack.
Remove the grease tube.
Discard grease cartridge (if applicable) and remove any
old grease from inside the tube.
Reinstall the grease tube.
Install battery pack, point the grease coupler towards an
approved grease container, and run the tool until all the
grease is expelled.
Lock the switch trigger in the “off” position and remove
the battery pack.
Store the unit, accessories, and grease in an area that
does not reach freezing temperatures. Do not store near
furnace or other sources of heat that could dry out the
pump, high pressure hose, or other components. Keep
out of the reach of children.
