17  When the iron reaches the temperature you set, the thermostat 

light will go off. It’ll then cycle on and off as the thermostat 

operates to maintain the temperature.

  STEAM IRONING

18  Set the temperature control at

 or higher (#2).

19  If you don’t, you’ll get water on your clothes, not steam.

20 Set the steam control at the setting you want,

 =  no steam,

high steam (#2).

21 Wait till the thermostat light goes out, then start ironing.

  SPRAY (#4)

 Test for water spotting on a hidden part of the fabric.

22 You may spray while dry or steam ironing.
23 Check that there’s water in the reservoir.
24 Lift the iron off the fabric, and aim the spray nozzle at the fabric.
25 Press the

 button – you may have to press it 2 or 3 times to 

pump water through the system.

  SHOT OF STEAM (#5)

26 This works while dry or steam ironing, if there’s water in the 

reservoir, and the temperature is above

27 Check that there’s water in the reservoir.
28 Check that the temperature control is at 

S

 or higher.

29 Lift the iron off the fabric, and press the

 button.

30 It may need 2 or 3 presses to pump water through the system.
31 Leave 4 seconds between shots, to let the temperature build up.

  DRY IRONING

32 If you’re dry ironing for 20 minutes or more, empty the reservoir.
33 Set the steam control to

34 Wait till the thermostat light goes out, then start ironing.

  VERTICAL STEAMING (#6)

35 Remove wrinkles from clothes, curtains, and furnishing fabrics. 
36 Check there’s ventilation behind the fabric, or mildew may form.
37 Check nothing behind the fabric could be damaged by steam.
38 Check that pockets, turn-ups, and cuffs are empty.
