8.3. Open the unit

Important:

  This description is not intended to be used as a service

manual. These are guidelines for an expierenced service engineer to

proceed adjustments or exchange parts of our instrument. However,
we strongly recommend repair of faulty units in our factory.
Please refer to the safety instruction in chapter 6 before continuing.

1. Disconnect all cables from the PortaMonitor.
2. Place the PortaMonitor face down on the work bench. Asure not to

scratch or damage the display.

3. Open the backplane cover (four screws). Store screws and metal

plate. (fig. 8-2)

8.4. Display exchange

In case of a faulty display this has to be exchanged completly including
the mainframe. Special tools would be required to mount a display in

the frame. Thats why only preproduced display units are available as a

spare part. Proceed as follows to exchange display:

1. Disconnect all cables from the PortaMonitor.
2. Place the PortaMonitor face down on the work bench.

3. Open the backplane cover (four screws). Store screws and metal

plate. (fig. 8-2)
