systems have difficulty detecting the type of IDE
controller (PIO, DMA, UDMA) that is in the sys-

• PIO only - Disables DMA mode for this drive.
• DMA only - Use DMA mode or PIO mode.
• Auto (UDMA) - use highest mode supported by
the drive.
