REASON FOR BULLETIN:
Beginning in
September 2007 (Coca-Cola equipment) and
November 2007 (all other brands), all new RVV models
are designed to accomodate a separate bill validator and card reader. This bulletin describes the
procedure for installing the RVV Card Reader Adapter Kit, which allows for the installation of both a bill
validator and a card reader.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Remove power by unplugging the vender's power cord from the AC voltage source (wall outlet).
2. Remove the existing select panel decal or fascia from the vender.
(Refer to Figure 1.)
3. Unplug the harnessing to the bill validator. Then, using an 11/32" (9 mm) socket or nut driver,
remove the four nuts that secure the bill validator.
(Refer to Figure 2.)
Once these are removed,
pull the validator straight out of the door.
4. Remove the four nuts that secure the validator filler plate in the vender's door.
(Refer to Figure 2.)
Remove the filler plate.
5. Mount the validator adapter plate (from the kit). Secure it with the four nuts that were removed in
Step 4.
(Refer to Figure 3.)
6. Affix the select panel decal (from the kit) to the front of the vender's door in place of the decal that
was removed in Step 2.
7. Mount the card reader where the bill validator was previously mounted (lower hole). Secure it with
the four nuts that were removed in Step 3.
8. Mount the bill validator onto the validator adapter plate. Secure it with the four nuts from the kit.
9. Connect all harnessing to the validator and to the card reader as required.
10. Restore power to the vender by plugging the vender's power cord into the AC voltage source (wall
outlet).
