5. Cleaning and Mainte-
nance
5.1 Safety measures

Always pull the mains plug out of the
socket before servicing the appliance.
X
Only begin the maintenance or repair
work once the appliance has completely
cooled down.
X
Cleaning and maintenance: this may
not be carried out by children without
supervision.
5.2 Cleaning
The ceramic tower heater should be
covered after each use to prevent
contamination by impurities.
Attention danger!
Wait until appliance has cooled down
before covering or putting it away.
If the appliance has nevertheless become
dirty, observe the following notes during
cleaning:

Always clean the appliance while cool.
X
Pull out mains plug before any work.
X
Only clean the appliance with a dry,
soft cloth. Never use strong and/or
abrasive cleaning agents.
X
Remove the dust filter (Fig. 1, No. 6)
and clean it with compressed air.
5.3 Maintenance
Note that only original parts may be
used for repair and maintenance work.
Contact the

Service Center if need
be (see Chapter 6).
5.4 Troubleshooting
FAULT: Appliance does not start.
Possible cause
Remedy
No power or
voltage too low.
Make sure the
plug is plugged
into the socket.
Check the power
supply voltage.
The appliance is
not switched on.
Operate the
main switch and
press the Power
button
The room tempe
-
rature is above the
temperature set at
the thermostat.
Increase thermos

tat temperature.
The tip protection
switch has
triggered
Make sure the
appliance is in a
vertical position
and not exposed
to any extreme
inclination.
The Standby
button was not
pressed after
switching on the
ON/OFF switch
Press the Standby
button,
FAULT: The switch switches off during
operation.

Remedy
The thermal pro

tection switch has
triggered. The
appliance has
exceeded the
maximum
permissible
temperature.
Switch off the
appliance by
operating the
ON/OFF switch
and pull the
plug out of the
socket. Allow the
appliance to cool
down for several
minutes. Check
the air inlet and
air outlet
