CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Make sure that the coffee maker is
unplugged and cold before
attempting to clean it.
The removable parts can be washed
in soapy water. Do not immerse the
coffee maker in water or any other
liquid.
Using a damp cloth periodically
clean out the area where the filter
holder sits, so as to remove any
coffee that may have become stuck
to it.
Be careful when removing the filter
as there, may be, hot water left
inside it.
In order to prolong the life of the seal
do not refit the filter holder if the
coffee maker is going to be stored
away for prolonged periods. Do not
place any of the parts into the
diswasher.
DESCALING
The guarantee does not include
Espresso machine which do not
function or do not function properly
because descaling has not been
carried out.
The coffee maker should be
descalled regularly. To do this, fill the
tank with a mix of three parts water
to one part vinegar or citric acid.
To descale follow the following
method:
- Unscrew the grid from the head
of the machine and clean it with
soapy water.
- Place the container beneath the
steam nozzle.

Turn the selector on hot water
position (19)
, and the steam
control (6)
on steam position.
Let half of water tank flows into
the container. Turn back the steam
control (6) and selector
on OFF setting (16) .
- Wait 10-15 minutes and place the
container beneath the brewing
head.
- Then turn selector on Espresso
position (15)
until the water
tank is empty.
Following this, and to flush out any
trace of vinegar or acid, operate the
coffee maker for a further two cycles
(full tank) but with water only.
POSSIBLE FAULTS AND THEIR
SOLUTION
The Espresso coffee is not hot
enough:
- Warm the cup beforehand.
- Descale the coffee maker.
The flow rate is reduced
considerably or does not go through:
- Try putting less coffee in the filter.
- Use a coarser Espresso ground
coffee, or tamp the coffee less.
- Descale the coffee maker.
- Make sure the water tank is
correctly fitted.
The coffee spills out over the filter
holder:
- Make sure that the filter holder is
correctly fitted.
- Clean the seal or replace it if
necessary.
