MOUNTING AND ASSEMBLY

IF YOU DO NOT HAVE OUR BASE PLATE MOUNTING SYSTEM
FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS BELOW.

1. Peel protective paper backing off acrylic base.

2. Before removing your router’s stock plate, center router on offset

base plate with handles parallel to length of plate.

3. Your stock plate will be used as the drilling jig. To keep everything

aligned, place a piece of masking tape on each plate in the corre-
sponding location.

4. Remove stock plate from router.

5. Place stock plate (face-up) on offset base plate (face-up), align pieces

of tape and center plates by measuring.

6. Clamp plates together, making sure they remain centered.

7. Drill and countersink mounting holes using drill press if possible.

NOTE: For best results drill holes at high speed and countersink
holes at a slow speed.

8. Mount plate to router. NOTE: If your router’s screws are not long

enough, you can find longer screws at hardware stores, bolt supply
companies, auto part stores or through your Rousseau Co.
Distributor.

USE

FOR EDGE DETAIL USING A BEARING CUTTER

1. Grip outer router handle and base plate handle firmly with long end of

plate over surface of material.

2. Turn router on and begin cutting.

FOR EDGE DETAIL USING A CUTTER WITHOUT A BEARING

1. Create a fence block approx. the height of your bit, cutting out

opening around bit.

2. Predrill fence block and attach it to aluminum edge guide.

3. Adjust fence for depth of cut and tighten in place. By cutting (with a

table saw or jointer) the leading edge of the fence a bit nar-
rower than the take up side, you can make jointer cuts. Either
straight or profile. Door edge details like this work great joint-
ing off the saw marks from end grain etc..

4. Grip both router handles (not plate handle) turn on router and

start cut.

FOR DADOES, RABBETS AND INLAY CUTS

1. Create a fence block, predrill holes and attach to aluminum edge

guide. NOTE: When making fence block consider that the smallest
distance from aluminum edge guide to bit center is approx. 2-7/8”.

2. Adjust edge guide to achieve correct inset of cut by measuring from

block to cutter edge.

3. Tighten in place, grip both router handles (not plate handle), turn on

router and begin cutting.
