Communication Setup
Ross Video uses license keys to control user access to specific Ultritouch features. This chapter outlines how to
install the ULTRITOUCH-RTR license for your panel, and set up communications between an Ultritouch and an
Ultrix router.

You must have the Ultrix router and the Ultritouch configured in your routing network before proceeding. Refer
to the
Ultritouch User Guide for details.
Installing a License Key
Before setting up communications between your Ultritouch and an Ultrix and/or Ultricore, you must first install the
ULTRITOUCH-RTR license on your Ultritouch.
To install an ULTRITOUCH-RTR license for your Ultritouch

This may also be accessed via a DashBoard client computer and navigating to the Ultritouch Device > Manage
Licenses interface.
3. Locate the row for the ULTRITOUCH-RTR license.
4. Make a note of the character string in the Request Code field.
5. Contact your Ross representative.
a. When you speak to your Ross representative, tell them your name, facility name, and the Request Code
from step 4.
b. You will be given a License Key that must be entered in the License Key field for ULTRITOUCH-RTR.
6. Enter the provided License Key in the License Key field for ULTRITOUCH-RTR.

Setting up a Communications between Ultritouch and Ultrix/Ultricore
Ultritouch uses the open SLP protocol to locate devices on the same network as it is connected to. There are two
methods to setting up communications between the Ultritouch and Ultrix/Ultricore: using the auto-connect feature
or manually adding the router by specifying its IP address.
To set up a connection point between Ultritouch and Ultrix/Ultricore

5. Use the Device IP/Hostname field to specify the IP Address for the Ultrix router.

The router is now listed in the Connected Devices table.
