Creating a Soft Panel for Ultritouch
The Ultrix Soft Panels Editor enables you to specify the number of destinations, sources, levels, and salvos
displayed on your panel. You specify the elements of the soft panel, such as what windows and additional menus to
display and their order on the soft panel, and give the panel a unique name to make it easier to identify in your
system. This chapter outlines how to create a soft panel (Ultritouch PB) specifically designed for use on an
Ultritouch using the Ultrix Soft Panels Editor in DashBoard.
Before You Begin
Creating a new soft panel, or editing an existing soft panel, requires you to work within the Ultrix database menu
system. Before proceeding:
• create and load the required database to the Ultrix router;
• be familiar with using the Soft Panel Editor in the Ultrix menu system.
• ensure the soft panel you are editing is not currently loaded on an Ultritouch.

Creating a New Soft Panel for Ultritouch
Much like other types of soft panels, when you create a new Ultritouch PB soft panel, you select from an existing
soft panel type (templates). You then assign a Panel Name and ID to display in the tree view using the nomenclature
“
Panel Name [#]
” where
[#]
is the Panel ID.
To create a new soft panel for Ultritouch
1. Locate the Ultrix in the Tree View of DashBoard.
2. Expand the Ultrix node to display a list of sub-nodes in the Tree View.
3. Expand the Database node.
4. Double-click the Panels node.
The Panels tab opens.
