Installing the Video Server Control Option
This section provides instructions for installing the Video Server Control Option , which can control
up to four video servers, disk recorders, or other devices that use the Louth VDCP control protocol —
directly from the Synergy 1 control panel. For more information on setting up your device with the
Synergy switcher, refer to the
Synergy 1 Installation Guide .
Use the following procedure to install the Video Server Control Option:
1. Install the software registration key for the Video Server Control Option . Refer to the
section “ Installing Software Options – Synergy 1 ” on page 6-7 for instructions.
2. Ensure that the serial port of your video server is properly set up to accept commands via
its remote port. Refer to the documentation for your device to learn more on its specific
remote control communications port.
3. Set up the communications port on the Synergy 1 switcher for your video server. Refer
to the section “ Setting Up the Switcher ” in the Synergy 1 Installation Guide , for
instructions.
4. Assign BNCs to your video server. Refer to the section “ Setting Up BNCs ” in the
Synergy 1 Installation Guide , for instructions.
This completes the procedure to install the Video Server Control Option . Refer to the section,
“ Programming Clips ” in the Synergy 1 Operation Guide , for detailed operating instructions.
