6. SELEcTOr ON POSITION 0,1,2,3
If the machine has an energy saving selector (position 0,1,2,3) it has
the characteristics listed below.
1)
On position 0 the machine is off.
2)
In position 1 the coffee machine will automatically be filled with water up to
the pre-set level (level probe inside the boiler).
3)
On position 2 the selector activates just one of the heating elements (half
power); this saves energy when the machine is on stand-by.
4)
On position 3 the selector activates both heating elements (full power) used
for operation.
7. ErGONOMIc MAcHINE IGNITION
Ergonomic models have a general ON/OFF switch instead of selectors. To turn on the ma-
chine, proceed as follows.
1)
Use the lever on the water distribution unit to fill the machine with water manually and check that
the water level is more than the minimum quantity and less than the maximum quantity (as indicated
on the level indicator).
NB
: It is recommended that the boilers is filled before switching the machine on. (otherwise the heat-
ing element in the boiler will burn because of the absence of Water).
2)
Start the red switch near the level indicator. Wait approximately 30 minutes to allow the machine
to reach its operating temperature.
3)
Heat the groups by operating them a few times with hot water only.
4)
When the green warning light goes out the set machine pressure has been reached.
This operation must be carried out by a specialized technician.
Steam and water are under pressure. SCALD HAZARD.
8. MAcHINE OPErATION BY PUSH BUTTON /
LEVEr / ELEcTrONIcS
1)
Steam is delivered by turning the side knob with a steam cloud sing on it.
2)
Hot water is delivered by means of the central knob (or side SB-ergonomic knob) with the hot water
drop sign.
With electronic machines press the tea-making button to deliver hot water.
3)
To deliver coffee from the coffee spouts, fill the filter holder with the correct quantity of coffee and
having it pressed, put it back above the coffee spout and press the relevant push-button on the steel
front (if the machine is fitted with an electronic console, refer to chapter 9).
4)
With lever models lift the manual lever on the side of the unit to deliver coffee. To cut off delivery
lower the lever.
5)
The double-range pressure gauge on the front constantly measures boiler pressure (0,9 - 1,1 BAR)
as well as coffee delivery pressure (8 - 10 BAR).
6)
Frequently check the boiler level indicator and double-range pressure gauge.
9. INSTrUcTIONS FOr ELEcTrONIc DOSING
