5. Fasten the chin strap securely and adjust to a snug fit.

6. Assure that your helmet does not interfere with the seal
of your SCBA face piece
7. Assure that the ear covers of your helmet are down and
interface with your hood, SCBA and coat collar so that
there is no gap in protection during use
8. Visor
The integrated visor should be pulled down until it
locks. No intermediate position is allowed. The visor is
pushed up in the reverse sequence, but is first secure
when tangible locking occurs.
The optional eye protection visor is pulled down until it locks
using the lateral levers. It is pushed up in the reverse sequence,
but is first secure when tangible locking occurs.
IMPORTANT: Protection of the visor is only provided in the final
position (end locking, no intermediate position).
IMPORTANT: The eye protector (optional) should be moved only
by using both levers (left and right) smoothly. Otherwise the vi-
sors can be scratch-damaged

Doffing your protective helmet
a) Helmet is not contaminated after use:
• remove the helmet in revers order from that described
above for donning the helmet
• Inspect each item of the helmet assembly for any dama-
ge or change in condition
• Any damage or change in condition must be corrected
before the helmet is used again
• Clean and store the helmet as recommended under
“Maintenance”
b) Helmet is contaminated after use:
Protective helmets contaminated with blood, bodily flu-
ids, toxins, radioactivity, chemicals, and hazardous
materials
Strictly avoid unprotected bodily contact with any conta-
minated area of your helmet assembly
Avoid spreading the contaminants from your helmet as-
sembly to your personal belongings, your living quarters
and/or interior spaces in buildings and vehicles
Place contaminated helmet assembly in a sealable, leak-
proof, air tight bag
Dispose of in accordance with applicable federal, state
and local laws
If the helmet is to be reused, it must be decontaminated
by a decontamination professional in accordance with
applicable federal, state and local laws
Cleaning
• You must keep your protective helmet assembly clean
• Clean the helmet assembly after each use, but before
inspection
• NEVER use a helmet that is wet from use or cleaning,
Allow all parts to dry before use
• Clean the
helmet shell, the visors and all plastic parts
with warm water and mild detergent using a soft sponge
or cloth
NEVER clean any part of the helmet or visor with abrasi-
ves, solvents, petrol, acids, etc., as this can have negati-
ve effects on the protective function.
• The
fabric head band covers
can easily be removed
from the headband and can be washed in a washing ma-
chine at low temperature (use a mild detergent only)

Chinstrap cleaning
The chinstrap should be cleaned as required. It is recom-
mended that the hook and loop fastening of the front
over-head strap be opened fully (A).
