Pressing
the
volume
buttons
will
increase
or
decrease
the
volume
of
the
Paletto
while
giving
spoken
information.
This
product
is
not
controllable
by
a
remote
control.
Recording
Sound
Groups
9
to
16
are
used
for
storing
your
own
recordings
which
can
be
from
the
included
microphone
via
the
“Mic”
Socket
or
another
audio
device
such
as
a
CD
player
or
Mp3
player
via
the
“Line
In”
socket.
A
suitable
cable
for
connecting
the
devices
to
the
“line
in”
can
be
purchased
from
most
hi
‐
fi
equipment
shops.
An
error
message
is
played
if
you
attempt
to
record
within
one
of
the
sound
groups
with
permanent
sounds.
The
record
function
is
selected
by
pressing
the
“Rec”
button
on
the
control
panel.
Pressing
the
button
once,
will
select
recording
from
a
connected
microphone
and
a
spoken
message
will
be
heard.
Pressing
the
button
again
will
select
recording
from
the
‘Line
In’.
The
following
audio
equipment
may
be
used
for
‘Line
In’
recording:
MP3
players,
cassette
players,
CD
players,
computers.
The
difference
between
recording
via
a
microphone
and
recording
via
the
‘Line
On’
port
is
that
‘Line
In’
plays
the
sound
during
recording.
This
does
not
happen
when
recording
via
a
microphone.
Pressing
the
button
once
more
will
return
the
Paletto
to
its
normal
mode.
1.
Select
“sound
group
9”
via
the
mode
buttons
ready
for
recording.
2.
Connect
the
device
you
wish
to
record
from
to
the
Paletto
via
the
appropriate
socket.
3.
Select
the
source
you
are
recording
from
via
the
“Rec”
button
and
a
voice
will
state
the
selected
mode.
4.
All
the
LED’s
should
now
be
flashing
and
the
Paletto
is
now
ready
to
record
your
sound.
5.
Press
1
of
the
8
buttons
you
want
to
record
the
sound
to
and
this
will
activate
the
record
function.
6.
Recordings
in
progress
are
indicated
by
the
LED
being
continuously
illuminated.
7.
The
new
recordings
will
replace
the
old
recordings
on
the
button
(Sound
Groups
1
‐
8
can
not
be
recorded
on
and
will
generate
an
error
message).
8.
Recordings
can
be
stopped
by
pressing
the
same
“play”
button
as
first
selected
and
then
the
MMC
will
be
updated
with
the
recorded
information
(this
can
take
a
few
seconds).
When
Finished
the
Paletto
will
play
back
the
last
sound
recorded.
9.
The
Paletto
should
then
return
back
to
the
normal
mode
after
the
recording
as
been
stopped.
10.
Repeat
this
procedure
for
each
recording.
NB:
If
the
memory
capacity
of
the
MMC
card
is
full
it
will
be
necessary
to
replace
existing
sounds.
A
spoken
message
announces
when
the
memory
capacity
of
the
MMC
card
is
full.
If
the
memory
becomes
full
during
a
recording,
the
recording
will
stop
and
the
message
will
play
back.
