RED-EYE REDUCTION
Red-eye reduction
People photographed with flash under poor
light conditions often end up with red eyes.

To reduce this effect, the camera emits
several short preflashes before taking the
actual picture so that the pupils of the peo-
ple in the photo become smaller.
›
To switch on the red-eye reduction mode,
briefly press the mode button and select the
relevant symbol with the shift button. Con-
firm by pressing the mode button again.
Note:
Red eyes are due to a reflection of the retina in
the eye. This effect can be reduced by increas-
ing the distance between the flash unit and the
subject.
