NB-IoT NPRACH Measurement
The NB-IoT NPRACH measurement provides quick and flexible tests on NB-IoT FDD
random access preambles. The tests cover the following UE transmitter properties:

Modulation accuracy for each NPRACH symbol (EVM, magnitude error, phase
error)
●
Transmit OFF power, transmit ON power and power ramping between them (power
dynamics)
●
I/Q constellation diagram
The NPRACH measurement requires option R&S CMW-KM300.

What's New in This Version
This documentation describes version 3.7.40 and later of the NB-IoT NPRACH mea-
surement. Compared to version 3.7.30, it provides only editorial changes.
4.2
General Description
The NB-IoT NPRACH measurement captures an uplink (UL) NPRACH signal and pro-
vides TX measurement results for the random access preambles. Only FDD signals
can be measured. Option R&S CMW-KM300 is required.

Test Setup
Connect the external RF signal source (mobile station, signal generator etc.) to one of
the bidirectional RF connectors on the front panel of the R&S
CMW.

How to Measure an Uplink NPRACH Signal
The measurement expects an NB-IoT NPRACH UL signal. Any other signals do not
yield measurement results (e.g. an NB-IoT UL signal for an established connection).
