Before beginning, read ALL of the steps below as some
require precise timing.

1. Turn your TV on

2. Press and hold the TV and  SELECT buttons at the same

time until the AUX, VCR, TV, and CBL buttons flash twice

3. Press 9 - 9 - 1 on the remote keypad, the TV button will

flash twice

** Get ready, this step requires precise timing! **

4. With the remote pointed towards your TV press the PLAY

button once then position your thumb above the SELECT
button BUT DON’T PRESS SELECT YET!.

5. The INSTANT your TV turns off, press the SELECT button,

if you press it too late you’ll have to repeat these steps.
The remote may take up to 3 minutes to try all possible
codes, each time a new code is attempted the TV light
will flash.

6. After you’ve pressed SELECT to lock in the code, test your

selection by pressing TV then POWER. If the TV turns on,
it worked.  Press SELECT to confirm the code.  If the TV
does NOT turn on, return to Step 4.

The remote is now programmed for your particular TV.  You
can also program it for other components by repeating the
steps and substituting the TV button with the respective
device button (VCR, DVD, etc.). 

If your remote has 5 device buttons along the top and a green LIST button in the
centre, follow these steps.

2. Press the TV button once.  The TV button will flash once.

3. Press and hold SETUP until the TV button flashes twice;

then release SETUP.

4. Press 9 - 9 - 1 on the remote keypad, the TV button will

flash twice.

5. With the remote pointed towards your TV press PWR

once.

6. Repeatedly press and release the CH+ button until your

TV turns off.  The remote will cycle through all possible
codes until a match is found. Note: You may need to
press the CH+ button dozens of times before finding a
match.

7. Once the TV turns off, press the SETUP button once to

lock the code.  The TV button will flash twice.

8. Confirm the correct code was locked by pressing the

PWR button to turn on your TV

The remote is now programmed for your particular TV.
You can also program it for other components by repeating
the steps and substituting the TV button with the respec-
tive device button (VCR, DVD, etc.).

In addition to operating the Digital Terminal, the Universal Remote Control is capable of controlling basic commands on your TV, VCR and even other devices.  To enable these features the Remote Control needs to be programmed for your particular home enter-
tainment components.  Follow the corresponding steps to program the remote for your TV.  You can also program the remote for other components by repeating the steps and substituting the TV button with the respective device button (VCR, DVD, etc.). 

Identify the Remote Control included in your welcome kit

Due to the wide range of Digital Terminal models that Rogers offers, different remote controls are included in the welcome kits.  Identify which remote was included in your welcome kit by comparing the images below.

until the light blinks twice, locking the code.

6.

Confirm the correct code was locked by pressing the TV

steps and substituting the TV button with the respective
device button (VCR, DVD, etc.).

What Is The Default PIN?

Your Personal Identification Number
(PIN) is a security feature required to
order Pay-Per-View, Rogers On
Demand programs and access
parental controls.  Before you can
access these features you will be
prompted to enter your PIN as
shown here.

Your default PIN is 0000. We recom-
mend that you change it for improved security. Refer to the
User Guide for instructions.

Enter your PIN carefully. After 3 unsuccessful PIN entries, fea-
tures requiring your PIN will be blocked until midnight as a
security feature.

Want to connect more to your TV than just the Rogers Digital Terminal?  The order in which you connect your equipment is very important.  Below is the recommended connection order for both High Definition and Standard Televisions.  Additional cables
may be required.

NOTE: Important Messages Regarding Your Television Use

Some televisions can experience image “Burn-In” if fixed images are
displayed for extended periods of time.  Consult your television
manufacturer’s documentation for more information

Always keep your digital terminal plugged in to the power outlet and connected to the cable outlet, do not disconnect it when not in use.  To give you the best
possible service, updates are sent periodically to the digital terminal and if the terminal is not connected and plugged in, you may miss an update.  Also, if the
terminal is disconnected for a longer period of time, your channels may become unauthorized when the terminal is reconnected.

Remote control does not work

Correct Function button not selected

If you are trying to control your Digital Terminal, press the “CBL” button on your Rogers remote control.
If you are trying to control any of your other equipment, select the appropriate Function button (i.e. TV, VCR etc.)

Remote not programmed to control your other home

Follow the instructions in “Step C” above to program your remote control to your Digital Terminal

Remote batteries are dead

Replace the batteries in the remote, be sure to insert the batteries correctly.
