Circuit Symptom Reason and Remedy
General No sound 1.Speakers are not connected.
Check the speaker connection
2.Wrong function is selected.
Press the desired function button.
3.Low volume control.
Set the volume control to a proper sound level.
4.Defective earphone jack.
Replace the ear phone jack.
AM
No sound,weak
1.Improper location of unit,
sound. (low sensitivity)
Rotate or reposition the unit.
2.Defect in T 102.
Check resistance voltage and current . Replace as needed.
3.Defect AM antenna coil or oscillator coil.
Replace if necessary.
4.Intermediate Frequency tuning faulty.
Readjust (See"Alignment procedures").
5.RF Tracking faulty.
Readjust (See"Alignment procedures").
6.Defective IC 102(TA2099N) .
7.Poor contact in antenna circuit.
Check resistance and re-soldering.
FM
No sound,weak
1.FM antenna is not connccted.
sound.(low sensitivity)
Extend the built-in FM antenna as straight as possible
2.Defective IC 101(TA8176S), IC102(TA2099N)
Check voltages,Replace if necessary.
3.Intermediate Frequency tuning faulty.
Readjust (See"Alignment procedures").
Poor contacts or repair as required.
TAPE
No sound/recording,
1.Dirty capstan or head.
Unsteady and/or sound
Clean the capstan or head with alcohol.
Weak sound
2.Irregular cassette tape winding.
Replace tape.
3.Defective IC TA7417AP or TA22211.
Check voltages,Replace if necessary.
4.Cassette prevention tabs broken out.
Replace tape or cover tab openings with adhesive tape.
