STEP 6 PRESS A STUB AXLE IN EACH STEERING BLOCK, ADD
AN E-CLIP AND PRESS IT IN THE REST OF THE WAY. LUBE
EACH KINGPIN WITH SILICONE LUBE OR LIGHT OIL , INSTALL
THE STEERING BLOCK AND RETAIN WITH AN E-CLIP. INSTALL
BOTH WITH THE AXLE OUT AND THE ANGLED PORTION OF THE
BLOCK TO THE REAR.
STEP 7 OPEN BAG B2.
ATTACH THE SPUR GEAR
TO THE HUB WITH TWO 1/4”
SCREWS. TIGHTEN LIGHTLY.
STEP 8 INSTALL THE GEAR AND
HUB ONTO THE AXLE WITH TWO
SET SCREWS. ONE OF THE SET
SCREWS NEEDS TO LINE UP WITH
THE DRILLED INDENT IN THE AXLE.
LINE IT UP AS SHOWN , THEN
SLIDE THE HUB ON AND TIGHTEN
THE SETSCREW. IT WILL GO BE-
LOW THE SURFACE OF THE HUB IF
THE SETSCREW IS IN THE SLOT.
ADD THE OTHER SETSCREW AND
TIGHTEN BOTH EVENLY TO AVOID
WARPING THE HUB.
STEP 9 INSTALL THE PINION GEAR FROM BAG B3 ON YOUR
MOTOR AND INSTALL THE MOTOR IN THE CHASSIS WITH TWO
SCREWS AND WASHERS FROM BAG B3. INSTALL THE 1/4” WIDE
AXLE SPACER ON THE AXLE AND SLIDE THE AXLE THRU THE
BUSHINGS. THE LONGER 1/2” SPACER WILL BE USED ON THE
OTHER SIDE LATER. ADJUST THE MOTOR LOCATION CARE-
FULLY TO GET THE GEAR MESH VERY CLOSE AND LEAVE A
VERY
SMALL AMOUNT OF PLAY BETWEEN THE GEARS.TURN
THE GEAR A FEW TIMES AND RECHECK THE MESH.
STEP 10 SLIDE THE AXLE OUT, THEN SLIDE THE ALUMINUM
SPACER AGAINST THE MOTOR HOUSING AND TIGHTEN BOTH
ENDS . SLIDE THE AXLE BACK IN AND RECHECK THE MESH
AGAIN.
IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO KEEP THE MOTOR FROM
MOVING TO AVOID STRIPPING THE SPUR GEAR.
STEP 11 ADD THE 1/2”
SPACER AND THE OTHER
HUB WITH TWO SETSCREWS.
LEAVE A SMALL AMOUNT OF
SIDE PLAY IN THE AXLE AND
TIGHTEN THE TWO SET-
SCREWS CAREFULLY, MAK-
ING SURE ONE IS IN THE IN-
DENT IN THE AXLE LIKE THE
OTHER SIDE.
STEP 12 INSTALL YOUR STEERING SERVO ON THE FRONT
AXLE PLATE WITH DOUBLE BACK FOAM TAPE PROVIDED. TRY
TO GET THE SERVO OUTPUT ARM AS NEAR THE CENTER AS
YOU CAN AND LINED UP SO THAT THE LINKAGE WILL GO THRU
THE NOTCHES IN THE BOTTOM OF THE CHASSIS.
