Power supply
The lock is provided with power from a 9 volt block bat-
tery (exception: power supply provided by an intrusion
detection system). We recommend the use of an alka-
line-manganese battery with reduced heavy metal con-
tent.
After changing the battery, dispose of old batteries in an
environmentally friendly manner using recycling/collect-
ing boxes. Batteries should never be thrown on the fire,
into water or disposed of with normal household waste.
Undervoltage indication
Press the
ON
key.
The
signal
message appears ten times.
Change the battery without delay.
Undervoltage is indicated when after pressing the
ON
key, the red LED flashes ten times. There is still sufficient
energy for approximately 50 opening, but no further pro-
gramming sequences should be performed.
If low voltage is indicated, change the battery without
delay. If the battery replacement is ignored for a very
long period, the number of possible opening cycles may
be reduced due to the battery's automatic discharge.
If the battery is not accessible externally, the lock must
be opened using the inspection key for a discharged or
defective battery (see page 24).
Battery replacement for a separate battery com-
partment
Move the drawer of the battery compartment as
shown by the indicated arrow direction (fluting on the
drawer) and remove the complete unit.
Remove the empty battery and place the new battery
in the drawer.
Reinsert the drawer and push it back until it latches
audibly.

Inspection opening with key
If, for example, you have forgotten the code, the lock
can be opened with the inspection key. To expose the
key hole, the trim piece on the operator unit must be re-
moved using an appropriate auxiliary tool.
The lock detects the removal of the operator unit as a
sabotage attempt. This dismantling will be output as sig-
nal message for each subsequent operation after the
code input. The signal message must be cleared.
