Explanation of pictograms

Operating the RP 10-B Press Fit tool.

Fitting of the jaws (See Fig. 1)

• Pull out the lock pin (Fig. 1 ref 7)
• Insert the correct jaw (Fig. 1 ref 8) (size and specification of the fitting) into the

jaw-mounting opening.

• Insert the lock pin into the hole situated in the jaw side plate, and firmly close the

lock pin by pushing it back into the original position (Fig. 2).
When the pin has been correctly inserted the green LED will show. If the pin is
not correctly inserted the red LED will blink and it will not be possible to start the
tool.

Performing the Press Fit action

• Check that the correct jaws have been fitted for the joint that is going to be

pressed.

• Check that a charged battery is correctly inserted into the tool and place the jaws

over the fitting

• Press the ON switch (Fig. 1 ref 1) to switch on the electronic controls. A warning

beep advises that the power is on and the green, red and orange led’s will light
momentarily leaving only the green LED to indicate the tool is ready to be
operated.

• Press the start trigger (Fig. 1 ref 3) to initiate the automatic Press cycle.

Important: Keep fingers and hands away from jaws during pressing cycle!

• Wait until the complete pressing cycle has been completed.
• The tool features an automatic pressing facility. This ensures a full pressing cycle

at all times. For safety reasons, the automatic pressing facility only engages after
the electronic control has completed system checks.

• If the pressing cycle was not completed correctly an audible warning will sound

and the red LED will blink to inform the operator of the error. See
TROUBLESHOOTING.

Important:

In order to ease the load of the machine in a dangerous situation

you should firmly press the red pressure relief button (Fig. 1 ref. 4). The
hydraulic pressure decreases, the piston retracts and the pressure on the tool
as well as the jaw will be relieved.

Rotating the jaw holder

• The jaw holder can be rotated through 90° (Fig.1 ref 5)

• If any failure interrupts the pressing cycle, press the manual release switch

(Fig. 1 ref 4) to reopen the jaws and remove the tool from the pipe.

• Whenever a pressing cycle is not fully completed the complete procedure must

be repeated.

joint should be cut out and replaced by a new one.
