When Media Is Not Fed Properly

When Media Curls While Feeding

Cause

Solution

Media has not been set straight into the
media input location.

When the media is skewed, see page 197 "When
Media Skews While Feeding".

The media guides have been removed.

Set the media guides correctly.

Media curls before printing.

Check the waves on the media on the platen or roll
feed unit, and then do as follows:

1. Feed media from the [Origin Setting] screen to

solve floating media.

2. Turn off Cooling mode for the heater. Media

floating decreases.

3. Increase the temperature of the pre-heater by

5°C (9°F), and then perform test feeding.

4. Increase the temperature of all heaters, and then

perform test feeding.

Media curls before printing.

Set the height of the print heads to be higher than the
thickness of the media to be used. When changing the
print head height, increase the setting value in
increments of +1. If a space between media and print
heads is large, it may cause defects in image quality.
For details about changing the print head height, see
page 147 "Head Height".

Media curls before printing.

Increase the vacuum level. For details about changing
the vacuum level, see page 148 "Media Settings".

Media curls before printing.

Set media to the roll-up unit. Media floating
decreases.

Recommended media is not being used.

Use recommended media. For details about
