Paper Thickness Detection
Sensor Tolerance

For each paper weight
setting that is applied to a
tray, there is a range of paper
weights that the machine
thinks is acceptable. Outside
these ranges, a jam will be
detected.

Acceptable range Setting

The fusing temperature, transfer current, etc for the paper type setting at the
operation panel is used, regardless of the paper type detected by the
thickness sensor.

For example, if Thin is set at the operation panel but Middle Thick is
actually used, the machine allows printing to continue, but will use the
settings for thin paper.
