Digital Zoom Photography

Using digital zoom, images appear closer. Whereas digital zoom is a compelling feature, the more an image is enlarged
(zoomed), the more pixilated (grainier) the image will appear. The digital zoom function is only available when you set the
LCD monitor and the digital zoom to on. To enable the digital zoom, refer to DIGITAL ZOOM in Record/Manual Record menu
(P.41).

1.

Set the mode dial to the

 mode or the M

5

 mode.

2.

Turn on the LCD monitor by pressing the DISP. button.

3.

Press the MENU button.

4.

Press the 

!

 or 

"

 button to select [DIGITAL ZOOM], and press the 

$

 button.

5.

Press the 

!

 or 

"

 button again to select [ON], and press the OK button.

6.

Press the MENU button again to exit from the menu mode.

7.

To activate the digital zoom, press the 

z

 button completely and hold it until the image on the 

LCD monitor expands.

8.

Press the shutter button to capture a "zoomed" image.

Note

• Digital photography is not possible when the LCD monitor display is turned off.
• Digital zoom is only available at a resolution of 2048x1536 pixels (P.25).
• Digital zoom cannot be used in the movie mode.
• The maximum zoom magnification is 2x for recording an image.
