
PRINTING FROM THE COMPUTER HAS STOPPED WORKING:
•
Walk over to the copier an see if the
printer
button on the left hand side of the control Panel
is
red
. If so, the copier maybe asking for operator assistance to print the job. Press the
printer
button to check what the copier is requesting.
•
Turn the machine off by pressing the
Main Power
button on the control panel. Wait for light
to stop blinking or wait 30 seconds. Then completely power down the machine by toggling
off the
red standby switch
for 10 seconds and then toggling it back on. The
red standby
switch
location is different for each model. If needed, please call our office for assistance to
locate the switch.
DO NOT
pull the power plug from the wall to attempt a full power down.
•
Check to see if the print job has left the queue from you computer. If it hasn't it maybe a
communication issue with the copier. Check your network connection. If you are connected
wireless, double-check that you are connected to the correct wireless network.
•
If your print jobs normally take a long time to spool, it could a slow network connection. This
is often seen when printing with a wireless network connection.
•
Is the job you sent from
iPhoto
? iPhoto is unfriendly to business class machines and should
not be used as a source for printing.
•
Is the job you sent from
Google Maps
with the
Satellite photos on
? Due to the
programming by Google, this print job is unfriendly to business class machines. It is
recommended that you perform a screen capture and print the map as an image.
•
Your job is spooling but never seems to come out! Check if the
data light
on the copier
control panel to see if it is blinking. If the light is blinking for a very long period of time, the
job may have got stuck. First delete the job from your print queue on your computer. Then
walk over to the copier and completely power down the machine by toggling off the
red
standby switch
for 10 seconds and then toggling it back on. The
red standby switch
location is different for each model. If needed, please call our office for assistance to locate
the switch. If you send the same document again and it repeats the same problem, clear the
job again. Now send a
completely
different
document from a
different program
as a test.
If the test prints correctly, then the other document has an incompatibility with the printer.
•
Your job is spooling but never seems to come out! Please check that the driver you are
using matches you model of your copier. Drivers can be downloaded from
http://www.royscopier.com/setup/selectmanufacturer.html
•
Your print job is coming out in weird symbols and program text! This may because by using
an incorrect driver to print to the copier. Please check that the driver you are using matches
you model of your copier or if you are using a Mac, that your machine has the ability to print
using a Postscript driver. Drivers can be downloaded from
http://www.royscopier.com/setup/selectmanufacturer.html
•
Your print job is coming our in weird symbols and program text! This may also be cause by
printing from
adobe products
such as PhotoShop CS3 and Illustrator CS3 running on Mac
OSX 10.6. To correct this, 3 things must be done.

Install the
Rosetta
package for mac. You can find this online or on your Mac OSX
install disc under Optional Packages. Reboot after install.
▪
Navigate to PhotoShop/Illustrator in your applications folder.
Get Info
on the folder.
Then check-mark
Run under Rosetta
.

Lastly, open up PhotoShop/Illustrator and bring up the print dialogue box. Switch to
