Troubleshooting

PROBLEM

Vacuum won’t turn on

POSSIBLE REASON

•  Power cord not firmly  

plugged in. 

•  Blown fuse or tripped  

breaker.

•  Filter not installed correctly.

POSSIBLE SOLUTION

• Plug unit in firmly.

•  Check house fuse or breaker. 

Replace fuse/reset breaker.

•  Take to an Authorized  

Riccar Vacuum Retailer.

•  Empty dust cup and remove 

any clogs.

•  Unplug and allow unit to cool 

down for 30-35 minutes.

 •  Empty dust cup. Clean and 

replace dust cup filter. 

•  Check to ensure dust cup is 

empty and seated properly on 

vacuum.

•  Check to ensure dust cup is 

empty and seated properly on the 

vacuum.

•  Clean and replace dust cup filter.

 

•  Check to ensure dust cup is 

empty and seated properly on 

vacuum.

•  Clean and replace dust cup filter. 

•  Remove hose. Remove  

obstruction from the hose.

•  Attach hose to hose inlet, listen 

for click. Check that hose isn’t 

pushed too far onto hose inlet.
