using the equipment in such a way as to circumvent its design capabilities and capacities, could
result in serious or fatal injury.
- Never try to split logs larger than those indicated in the specifications table. This could be
dangerous and may damage the machine.
7. Use the right tools
- Do not force small tools to do a job of heavy duty tools.
8. Dress properly
- Do not wear loose clothing, gloves, neckties or jewellery; as they can be caught in moving
parts.
- Wear protective hair covering to contain long hair.
9. Use protective equipment
- Wear protective equipment appropriate to working conditions and work environment
- Wear protective helmet, safety goggles, ear mufflers, face or dust mask or breathing mask with
proper filter, rubber gloves and non-skid footwear to reduce the risk of personal injury during
products use or manipulation.
10. Do not overreach
- Keep proper footing and balance at all times.
- Floor must not be slippery.
- Never stand on log or log splitter. Serious injury could occur if the tool is tipped or if the cutting
tool is unintentionally contacted.
- Do not store anything above or near the log splitter where anyone might stand on the tool to reach
them.
11. Maintain product with care
- Keep product clean for better and safer performance.
- Follow instructions for lubrication and changing accessories.
- Keep handles dry, clean and free from oil and grease
12. Disconnect (switch off) product when not in use, before servicing and when changing
accessories.
13. Remove adjusting keys and wrenches
- Form the habit of checking to see that keys and adjusting wrenches are removed from the product
before starting it.
14. Avoid unintentional starting
- Ensure the switch is in OFF position before connecting to main power.
15. Stay alert
- Watch what you are doing. Use common sense.
- Never operate this machine or any other power equipment if you are tired, ill,
or under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any other substance that could affect
your ability of judgment to use it properly.
16. Check damaged parts
- Before further use or reuse of the product, it should be carefully checked to determine that it will
operate properly and perform its intended function.
- Check for alignment of moving parts, free running of moving parts, breakage of parts, mounting
and any other conditions that may affect its operation.
17. Do not abuse the power cable
- Never carry the tool by the cable or yank it to disconnect it from the socket.
- Keep the cable away from heat, oil and sharp edges.
- Inspect tool cable periodically and if damaged have it repaired by an authorized service facility.
18. Use of extension leads
- DO NOT use cable reels.
- When tool is used with extension cord, ensure that extension cord withstands tool ratings.
- If used outdoors, use only extension cords intended for outdoor use. Fully extend the extension
cord.
