5.2- Application conditions
This log splitter is a home use model.
It is designed for operating under ambient temperatures b5°C and 40°C and for installation at
altitudes no more than 1000m above M.S.L.
The surrounding humidity should less than 50% at 40°C.
It can be stored or transported under ambient temperatures between -25°C and 55°C.
5.2.1- For log splitter 5T PREHLS52 / 042081
The log splitter must be used horizontally and
never vertically!
5.2.2- For log splitter 8T PREHLS7T/V / 042091
The log splitter must be used vertically and never
horizontally!
5.3- Before operating the log splitter
Check the oil level and refill as required before use.
1. Familiarize yourself with the controls and features of the log splitter (refer to the illustrations).
2. The Bleed Screw should be loosened by some rotations until air can go in and out of the oil tank
smoothly. Air flow through the Bleed Screw hole should be detectable during the log splitter is under
operations.
Failure to loosen the bleed screw will keep the sealed air in the hydraulic system.
The air being compressed and then decompressed, such continuous air compression
and decompression will blow out the seals of the hydraulic system and cause
permanent damage to the log splitter.
3. Before moving the log splitter, make sure the bleed screw is tightened to avoid oil leaking from this
point.
4. Plan your work site.
Work safely and save effort by planning your work beforehand.
Have your logs ready to split positioned tidily where they can be easily reached.
Have a site located to stack the split wood or load it onto a nearby truck or other carrier.
5. Prepare the logs for splitting.
5.1. The 5T log splitter PREHLS52/042081 can accommodate logs up to 52cm in length and with
diameter from 50 to 250mm.
5.2. The 8T log splitter PREHLS7T/V/042091 can accommodate logs up to 106cm in length and with
diameter from 70 to 400mm.
The support table 3 positions allow the splitter to work on logs of 58cm, 77cm or 106cm in length.
Insert the support table in the position nearest to the log length, and secure the support table with the
locking hooks.
When cutting up limbs and large sections, do not cut sections any longer than 100cm.
6. Apply a thin coat of grease to the surfaces of the ram before operation will lengthen the durability
of the ram.
7. Route the power cord.
Route the cord from the power source to the splitter in a way that safeguards against tripping on the
cord, or the cord becoming damaged during the work session.
Protect the power cord from impacts, pulling or corrosive materials.
8. Open the Air Bleed.
Loosen the oil tank cover a few turns whenever the splitter is being used.
