Fault Finding Chart 1

Is 240 volts present at the
terminal block?
Is the isolating switch
turned off?
Is the fuse blown at the
switchboard?
Is the reading below 1
Megaohm?
Restore power and advise
customer
Possible fault in household
electrical wiring. Continue with
diagnosis to confirm water heater
is operational.
Isolate power and continue
with diagnosis procedure
Conduct an electrical
insulation test (refer to section
on insulation testing)
No hot water
Warning: Terminals may be live.
