9. Install burner mounting plate gasket on studs, align burner mounting plate with bolts, and slide burner into heater.
10. Secure burner mounting plate to heater using three nuts.
11. Reconnect two yellow wires to ignition controller.
Service Oil Nozzle and Spark Electrodes
Remove the fuel line assembly and service the oil nozzle and spark electrodes as follows:
⚠ WARNING ⚠
Turn OFF electrical power before servicing oil nozzle and spark electrodes.
1. Turn OFF electrical power to unit.
2. Remove fuel line assembly:
a. Loosen connection nut (where line connects to burner) one or two turns.
b. Loosen 5/16-inch inverted flare fitting to disconnect fuel connection assembly. Pull fuel connection assembly
clear of burner housing.
c. Remove two screws that secure spark transformer cover to burner housing and lift hinged transformer to its
open position.
d. Pull fuel line assembly up slightly and toward rear of burner housing and remove.
3. If necessary, replace oil nozzle:
a. With fuel line assembly removed, use box wrench to remove oil nozzle.
NOTE: Replace the oil nozzle only with a factory-authorized replacement. Do not substitute nozzles.
b. Install replacement oil nozzle (refer to
NOTE: When replacing the nozzle, inspect the electrodes and check electrode adjustment before
reassembling the heater.
4. Service spark electrodes:
a. Check electrodes for deterioration and insulators for cracks or damage. Replace electrode assemblies if any
damage or deterioration exists. Otherwise, remove any carbon formation on spark electrodes.
b. After service or replacement, check position of electrodes and adjust electrode location precisely as shown
5. Re-install fuel line assembly.
