Performance Verification

28. The PEEP system test is complete.

Breath Rate (Test 7)

The breath rate test verifies the accuracy of the breath rate setting and to
ensure that the ventilator does not autocycle at high respiratory rates.

1. Connect a patient circuit and analyzer to the ventilator as shown in

Figure 8-21.

2. If the ventilator is not already in normal ventilation mode, cycle power

to the ventilator to enter normal ventilation mode.

NOTE:

The breath rate test requires the ventilator to be in Volume Control
Ventilation (VCV) and Assist/Control (A/C) mode.
