Rechargeable batteries
•
The rechargeable battery is built into the product and cannot be replaced.
•
Never attempt to damage the rechargeable battery. Damaging the casing of the
rechargeable battery may cause an explosion or fire! Unlike conventional batteries
(e.g. AA or AAA batteries), the casing of the LiPo rechargeable battery is made of
a sensitive plastic film.
•
Never short-circuit the contacts of the rechargeable battery. Do not throw the
battery or the product into open flames. This may cause a fire or explosion!
•
Charge the rechargeable battery regularly, even when you are not using the
product. You do not need to discharge the rechargeable battery before recharging
it.
•
Never charge the battery when the product is unattended.
•
Place the product on a heat-resistant surface before charging the battery. The
product may become warm when the battery is charging.
Operation
a)
Charging the rechargeable battery
The rechargeable battery should be charged for approximately two hours before first
use.
•
To charge the battery, proceed as follows:
• Insert the USB cable into the USB port on the device. The USB port is located on the left-
hand side under the rubber cover.
•
Connect the other end of the USB cable to a USB port on your computer or USB power
adapter (output voltage 5 V/DC).
•
When the battery is charging, the blue LED indicator behind the two buttons will turn on and
a lightning symbol will appear on the battery icon in the upper-right corner of the display.
•
When the battery is fully charged, the blue LED indicator will turn off and "100" will be
displayed on the battery symbol.
Operation
a)
Displaying the date and time
•
The GPS device can display the date and time To display the date and time, press the right-
hand button when the device is switched off.
•
Pressing the right-hand button again will turn on the display backlight.
b)
Turning the device on:
•
To turn the device on, press the right-hand button once to display the date and time.
•
Press the right-hand button again and hold it for 2–3 seconds until the menu is displayed.
c)
Using the menu:
• Use the right-hand button to navigate right through the menu.
• Use the left-hand button to navigate left through the menu.
•
To open a menu option, hold down the right-hand button for 2–3 seconds until the desired
option is displayed.
•
To return to the previous menu, hold down the left-hand button for 2–3 seconds.
d) Switching the device off:
•
In the main menu, the backlight will turn off automatically after approximately 10 seconds.
•
After another 30 seconds, the device will switch off and the date and time will be displayed.
•
If the date and time is displayed, the device will automatically switch off after approximately
10 seconds.
•
The device will not switch off automatically after you select a menu option, but the backlight
will turn off after 10 seconds. Press any button to turn the backlight back on.
•
To turn off the device manually, press both buttons simultaneously until the display turns off.
The time will be displayed briefly before the device turns off.
•

Care and cleaning
•
Always disconnect the product from the power supply before cleaning it.
•
Never use aggressive detergents, rubbing alcohol or other chemical solutions, as these may
damage the casing or cause the product to malfunction.
•
Use a dry, lint-free cloth to clean the product. To remove stubborn dirt, use a cloth moistened
with lukewarm water.
•
Clean the product very carefully to prevent scratch marks.
•
Do not press too heavily on the glass cover, otherwise it may crack.

Intended use
This product is designed for use as a GPS positioning and navigation device. It also features a
built-in pedometer, barometer, weather station and spirit level and displays the date and time.
The device comes with software for reading and analysing measurement data and planning
routes and waypoints. The product has an IPX6 protection rating and is therefore protected
against powerful water jets.
For safety and approval purposes, you must not rebuild and/or modify this product. Using the
product for purposes other than those described above may damage the product. In addition,
improper use can cause hazards such as a short circuit, fire or electric shock. Read the
instructions carefully and store them in a safe place. Make this product available to third parties
only together with its operating instructions.
