Operation
a) Connection
•
Turn on your computer and wait until the operating system has started.
•
Computers featuring USB 3.0: Use the included USB 3.0 cable to connect the product
to a free USB 3.0 port on your computer.
•
Computers featuring USB 2.0: Remove the USB plug from the bracket beneath the
product. Connect the USB plug to a free USB 2.0 port on your computer.
•
A blue LED on the top of the housing lights up to indicate that the product is
operational.
b) Reading / writing / deleting memory cards
•
Carefully insert a memory card into the correct slot on the card reader. Heed the
inscription on the top of the product. Make sure the orientation of the card is correct
and do not exert any force.
•
A red LED on the top of the housing blinks during read/write access.
•
Your computer treats each slot on the multi card reader like an ordinary removable
storage drive. Windows® automatically assigns additional drive letters. You can
use File Explorer to read files on the memory cards (or save files on the memory
cards) like on an ordinary hard drive.
•
All memory card slots can be used simultaneously. As such, you can transfer data
between various memory cards.
Exception: The slots
M2
and
MS
must not be used at the same time. One of these
two slots must always remain empty.
•
When deleting or writing memory cards in SD/MS format, make sure that the write
protection (slide switch on the card), if present, must be deactivated.
• SDXC memory cards use the exFAT file system. If you are using Windows® XP, you
must install an update for exFAT or your operating system will not recognize SDXC
memory cards.
Go to www.microsoft.com and look for the update for the exFAT file system. SDXC
memory cards cannot be used with Windows® XP until after this update has been
installed!
c) Remove memory cards / Remove card reader from computer
•
Wait until read/write access to the memory card is complete. Safely remove the
memory card via your operating system. Then you can carefully remove the memory
card.
• Removing a memory card during read/write access may damage the files on the
card. It may also be necessary to format the card in this case.
•
Remove the product from the computer after read/write access has completed and
all cards have been safely removed via the operating system.
Cleaning
Remove the product from the computer before cleaning. Clean the product with a dry,
fibre-free cloth.
